MedConnect North Together Towards Tomorrow 2020 was held on Wednesday 26 February at Ramside Hall. The day aimed to educate, inform and encourage delegates to think about how medtech can work with NHS in primary and secondary care to develop innovation.
The research delivery landscape is evolving and the day highlighted upcoming changes we need to consider in delivering research. By addressing these issues and removing obstacles, we can gain a better understanding of how to provide support in order to expedite the launch of new technologies and services to enhance and improve patient care and positively contribute to the regional economy.
Speakers on the day included Dr Bassil Akra from TÜV SÜD Product Service GmbH who covered medical device regulations and product approval in the EU, Peter Sargent from NIHR NOCRI and Dr Camilla Fleetcroft from the Medicines & Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).
